Hi y'all!!  I hope this Thursday has treated you well.  It's almost the weekend!  I had a handful of photography related plans (sessions, and meetings, and photo walks, oh my!!) both today and tomorrow and sadly the weather is not cooperating.  It's forecast to be a BEAUTIFUL weekend though!  I know rain is a necessity and I love a good thunderstorm, but dang if it's not a bummer when my photo plans get rained out.

Today I'm sharing with you guys a fun family I got to work with back in March!  We started planning for their session last December and I was so excited when it was finally time to meet them!  After emailing back and forth about outfits, and locations, and scheduling we met up on a Sunday evening in March and had beautiful weather!!

Big brother was just a total ham and so much fun!  He loved on his little sister and his parents and we just had a great time exploring a new location.  My friend, Jenni, told me about this beautiful spot which turned out to be amazing for pictures!  I just wish it was closer to my house!

Here are some of my favorite images from their session!  We had so much fun and got so many great images, it was hard to choose just a few to share!

I love the outfits this family chose for their photos!  Blue and yellow are some of my favorite complementing colors.  Here's a little trick I sometimes like to use when choosing colors.  If you look at a color wheel below (source) and look at colors that are on opposite sides of the wheel, those are often great options to use as pops of color in outfits.   I LOVE all neutrals (greys, browns, light pinks, white, cream, blacks) but sometimes it's fun to add some pops of color to outfits and this can be a great starting point!  The rule of opposites attract can be seen here.  Also, if you're struggling with outfit choices I love to help!  My clients can always text or email me pictures and we can work on outfits together.  It's one of my favorite things to do!
